Many of our most Frequenty
Asked Questions deal with how our products are made and the time it takes
to produce them. Thus, in an effort to help our customers understand what
goes into the production of their item, we have written a brief decription
of the production processes for our various products...
Our Earthenware items (Canisters, Scent Pots, Votives etc.) start with liquid clay that is hand poured into a mold. When the desired thickness is reached the mold is drained and the item is allowed to become firm enough to release. (approximatly 1 day) The item is then allowed to dry. When dry, it is cleaned ( to remove all seam lines) and inspected. The raised design is then applied to the scent pots. Then depending on it's use it is placed for firing. Items to be used for food are fired at a higher temperature.
Canisters, Votives, and Accessory Items which are to have china paint patterns applied to them need a third firing. Inspection of pieces, application china paint patterns and overnight
drying time takes approximatly 1 day. Third firing and cooling (appoximatly
1 day)
